Hw:2,0 -channel_layout stereo -c:v huffyuv -c:a pcm_s16le -ac 1 out.avi input_format yuyv422 -standard NTSC-M -i /dev/video0 -thread_queue_size 1024 -f alsa -i ffmpeg -debug 1 -use_wallclock_as_timestamps 1 -thread_queue_size 1024 -f video4linux2 Then I used this ffmpeg script, it's probably not all necessary but it's the first thing I have tried that hasn't caused an audio desync after like an hour of recording. Here's how:įirst I set the device standard with vl42-ctl v4l2-ctl -set-standard=ntsc -set-ctrl=mute=0 (but it is recognized as a USB capture device or it wouldn't have shown up at all!) I'm not sure where I went wrong, I have resorted to trying random stuff at this point but I am not getting anywhere.Įdit: I finally got it to record reliably. I tried qv4l2 as well, but it also just displays black as a preview and spits out tons of errors in the terminal. I was using the preview tool guvcview to make sure it was capturing correctly but now it just displays a block of green. (em2820) I was using a ffmpeg script like a week ago for vhs capture and it was working great, but now after updating linux I can't get anything useful from it. After a lot of research I figured out it uses a em28xx card.
